43 Years Old Today & I’m In the Best Shape of My Life!

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

You don’t have to fear growing old when you are in great mental and physical shape. Today I turned 43 and I feel like a young 30-something. My abs are ripped. My muscles are as big and full as they’ve ever been. And I feel great!

In a few minutes I’m going to do a little exercise, a morning walk and run with some intervals thrown in to burn some fat. It’s beautiful outside today, warm and sunny with bluebird skies. It feels great to be alive!

I’m in a good mood so I may just throw up another fitness muscle building video post on YouTube today. :-)

Next Round of Senate Hearings on Steroids in Major League Baseball

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

As I’m writing this post, The U.S. Senate is grilling Roger Clemens about suspected use of HGH - human growth hormone - and steroids. Good.

He looks so bad sticking to his story… that he’s NEVER taken HGH or any other steroid for that matter. Former teammate Andy Pettitte confirmed that Roger told him he took growth hormone.

Clemens is testifying that Pettitte must have “misremembered” the conversation they had in the gym about HGH.

Keep in mind that several other teammates of Clemens have already come clean about their use of HGH — Chuck Knoblach, Andy Pettitte and others, all of whom were under the supervision of trainer Brian McNamee.

Granted, McNamee was not completely honest when these investigations first began. He under-reported the number of injection incidents with players and witheld other information. But he’s since testified that he was afraid to “ruin the careers of those who had employed him” and that is why he was not forthright from the beginning.

That sounds legitimate to me, but one can never know with complete certainty.

As Senator Davis stated in the opening of this hearing:

“Someone here is lying spectacularly”.

Boy, I really wonder who that could be? Maybe someone trying to protect Hall of Fame glory?

If there is anything else worth commenting on throughout the day, I’ll post it.
