Dutchess Fitness Boot Camp Update

Monday, May 25th, 2009

First off I want to apologize for not posting for the last few months. I’ve been super busy growing two new fitness related businesses –  a Fitness Boot Camp serving Dutchess County New York residents and a Personal Training business.

Between these new ventures and my marketing business I am stacked working 6-7 days a week and unfortunately, blogging has suffered big time.

The good news is that my clients are experiencing phenomenol weight loss results and my fitness income is taking off. I now have a total 17 clients and growing in my boot camp and personal training programs.

I’ll post some good stuff soon as I catch up and come up for air.  :-)

Interval Training Outdoors in Dutchess New York

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

My absolute favorite place for cardio interval training is my local rail trail in Eastern Dutchess County, New York.

It’s along the now defunct Conrail line. I bike, hike and run here. It’s so peaceful and tranquil all my stress and worries just evaporate. I see critters such as wild turkey, deer and a variety of woodland birds. There are bear in “them thar hills”, but I have yet to see one – a good thing I guess. In these trying times, it’s nice to know I can quickly escape to somewhere peaceful to get back to the basics.

I do all sorts of body weight training exercises here, including wind sprints,  jumping jacks, mountain climbers, off trail hill walking and more. Here are some pictures from my sunrise training sessions:

Personal Trainer in Dutchess New York Argues ‘Getting Fit’ is Mandatory, Not Optional

Friday, November 21st, 2008

The countdown to the New Year has begun. We are less than 45 days a way from the busiest month a personal trainer has each year. As you can probably surmise, January produces more new training prospects and clients than any other month of the year. February is a close second.

But I can’t help but wonder if the U.S. financial crisis will put a crimp in some (or many?) people’s best laid plans to lose weight and build muscle using a personal trainer.

After all, having your own trainer is a discretionary expense. It’s not a necessity like food, clothing or shelter. It just may not fit into the personal budget this year for some.

However, let me posit the following argument right here and now:

Getting fit – losing weight, burning fat & building lean muscle with or without personal training – is a necessity! That’s right, I said it’s a necessity. Why? Because your quality of life is so dependent on a healthy mind and body… It affects nearly every aspect of your existence:

  • Lifespan
  • Whether or not you develop a chronic disease and to what degree
  • Vitality & energy
  • Mental health
  • Ability to perform routine activities of daily living

Being able to positively improve these areas of has MANY BENEFITS:

  • Have more fun & live longer for yourself & those who love you
  • Peace of mind knowing you’re reducing the odds of getting cancer or heart disease
  • Quality ‘activity time’ with your children
  • More zest and enthusiasm for life
  • Improved sexual performance
  • And so much more…

If you can’t find the time or have the discipline to get back in shape yourself, you must get outside help now! If you’re middle-aged, it’s not too late to reverse nasty things like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.  Again, your life depends on your health and fitness. Getting back in shape is a NECESSITY – not discretionary – unless of course you don’t value your life as you should.

I hope you value your life… I hope you care about your children enough to get yourself back in shape. I hope you care about having more energy to tackle the up’s and downs of life.

Are you tired of being out of shape? Call (845) 223-8168 or email me today and I’ll help you  create a fitness and fat loss program that will give you the body and the quality of life you deserve. It’s time to get fit and healthy and look good doing it!
