About
My name is Bob Thomson and I want to thank you for stopping by my fitness blog.
I’ve been involved in physical fitness for most of my 42 years and first turned to weight training during the off seasons for organized sports (baseball & wrestling). I was a huge Arnold Schwarzenegger fan and saw Pumping Iron for the first time in 1980. I was hooked on weight training from that point forward.
I have competed nationally in physique and fitness contests winning several awards and honors, including 2-time Runner Up Mr. Fitness Title in Atlantic City, New Jersey (sponsored by Mens Exercise magazine).
I’ve had the pleasure to do some fitness modeling years ago in both Men’s Exercise magazine and Exercise for Men Only and I am hoping to get back into this at some level in the future.
Far from perfect, I’ve made a a lot of missteps over the years. Several times in my life I backslid… I got depressed… and I once gained 50 lbs (I weighed 223 at my peak! Got most of it from my girlfriend’s Mom’s cooking – she was the classic Italian cooking Mother, need I say more?)
The purpose of this blog is twofold:
One, to document my journeys from here forward in the fitness world and lifestyle.
Two, to bring ideas, scientific research and expert tips about personal fitness training, weight loss, performance conditioning, plyometrics and natural bodybuilding to your attention.
If you ever have any questions, thoughts or feedback please feel free to register and let us know what you think.
To your fitness!
- Bob
